Wow this product is amazing, i have had this for 2 years as it lasts a very long time and im just running out of it! It looks nice, very sleek and looks expensive. When i brought this 2 years ago it was about £10 im not sure how much it is now.
I must worn everyone you only need the smallest amount possible from this product for you hair, you press the top of it and it comes out i only use less than a 5p coin amount. I rub it into my hands and then smooth lightly hardly tooching my hair all over. If you put too much on, your hair will be greasy.
This product is brilliant if your hair is dry and that small amount tames your hair, softens and shines your hair! Your hair doesn't dry out, i am very impresses with this product and it doesn't irritate your scalp.
The name of the product is exactly what it is 'shine junkie' , i like how it hides split ends it seems to mend them a little or does some thing! I think this is the best product to mouister your hair for blow drying and straightening.
I can't remember why I bought this in the first place. I think it was something that I was recommended to me by my hairdresser. She may even have used it on my hair and it went from there. For those of you who are unaware Tigi is a company who do a number of ranges of products but probably its most well known is Bed Head.
Now the first thing I come to is the packaging and this is most certainly its major let-down. To start with it looks great and has that colourful thing going on like all Bed Head products. The can is silver with a bright purple cap. Once you touch it however the problems begin. When I removed the cap I had no idea how to get the product out. I couldn't squeeze the can nor was there any spray mechanism or push nozzle. It took me ages to figure it out. What there is is a nozzle that you have to push to one side to get the product out. Which is fine in theory but as soon as you push that nozzle a whole stream of it comes out. It really is impossible to get just a small bit. Suddenly it will spurt out violently and you end up with far too much on your hands so either you use all of it which makes it look awful or you have to wash it all off your hands and start again. The other problem was that once you had used it for the first time it had a tendancy to leak and run down the side of the can so it would be all sticky and gunky the next time you picked it up. Really annoying and rather unpleasant.
To use it you were meant to rub some in your hands to emulsify it, then run your hands through your dry hair. It comes out as a thick gel which is slightly sparkly. So does it at least work? Yes. Be careful of using too much as it is a heavy product and will make your hair greasy and also I would not advise using this too near the roots of your hair. It did actually make my hair look more shiny which is a challenge but I did have to be really careful with the amount I used so start small and go back for more if needed. I must also mention the smell. Like all Bed Head products this smelled gorgeous. I think this is my favourite is terms of smell. It's a real fresh fruit smell and very zingy. This made me think of grapefruit and limes. I think the smell was the highlight of the product for me and people would comment that my hair smelt great. It also made my hair feel lovely and soft which was a nice bonus. Using it was a bit of a hassle though because as well as the awkward bottle your hands would need a thorough washing before touching anything else.
I paid £13 at the time but I hear it has now been discontinued but there are some cheap bottles going on ebay. I like this for what it does and the fabulous smell but the awful packaging is just too off-putting.
Another great tigi product that i think that i would be lost without, Tigi have created the greatest range when it comes to Bed Head, I use a lot of the various products in the range so that i can achieve a different look everytime that i go out as i find so many people have the same hair style all the time.
Tigi Bed Head Shine Junkie is a spray that is used to a make your hair look shiny and feel nice and soft to touch. It controls your hair from the static and protects those split ends and without making your hair look greasy and as if you have applied lot of product on it.
To use this product it is best used when you apply a small amount into your hand and you rub it between you hands to activate it and then run it through your hair. I aply this product before i straighten my hair which i think gives me the best results.
This is one of the better shine products that i have used and over the years they have changed the appearance as they have now put in into an aersol can which is not the greatest idea Tigi has as i think that you do not have much control over the small amount that you need as you always with the can end up with more than you need and it gets wasted as i find when i put too much of a product on my blonde hair it tends to make it look greasy.
This has a great fruity fagrance and is a great invention by Tigi and i would recommend that this is an item to definately have in you beauty case, my hair would not be the same without it.
Although you hairdresser will sell this product i have found many website online where tigi products are a lot cheaper, so i recommend that you shop around you will not believe the difference in prices.
I have that hair...Grows out of my head in various directions, is very fine, very flyaway and prone to huge amounts of static! I tried every trick and product I could think of...I had asked various hairdressers and non of them had the answer that would give me smooth, glossy static free hair. All were terrified to use serum on me as they thought it would flatten my hair totally. Until I moved to my current hair dresser who once she had finished blow drying my hair very calmly applied a tiny bit of this miracle stuff and wow!
I was addicted! I bought a bottle on my next trip to the hair dressers priced at around £8 for a medium sized bottle and available in some hair dressers, superdrugs and boots, its a godsend. It doesnt weight down thin hair at all. You apply just a touch to the underneath (to cut out those static hairs sticking to your neck) then rub it in to your hands so you have a very thin coat all over and just (very) lightly smooth your hands over your hair it will immediatly calm any flyaways, disguise split ends and did I mention it kills static? It also smells great and lasts ages as you need so little!
I'm not saying if you buy this you will never have another bad hair day because of course we all have days where even when we look our best...its just not right..but it will certainly cut the amount of bad hair days dramatically! I only wish I had known about this sooner!
As a bit of background info this is a styling wax product from Toni and Guy's Tigi range (meaning you can only buy it at Tigi appointed hairdressers- most notably Toni and Guy itself) and I am a guy with fine short blonde hair. I first became acquainted with this product when my hairdresser recommended it to me- and though I'm usually put off by any hardsell (and most particularly when hair products are concerned- hey I'm a guy!) I could not resist getting it by the product's wonderful smell- a sort of aroma of sweet apples which you cannot help but notice. Moreover, it really is a product which does it's job- it provides shine and hold for those with short hair. My girlfriend (who has much longer hair than me) also claims it helps disguise split ends. Basically you can apply on wet or dry hair- I tend to do it on dry- just like any wax product by rubbing in your hands, applying to your hair, and styling as desired. Though the product seems expensive, if you've got short hair like me the tub will last for at least a couple of months.
Ok this girl used to have long hair. And I mean really long hair. A lot of people loved my hair, and told me never ever to cut it because it was so beautiful. These comments were what kept me growing my hair, I would go for the odd trim but I didn’t have my own hairdresser. Anyway I ended up getting my hair cut very short, it was a big shock and I was very gutted but when I left the hairdressers my hair had so much style to it, it was like wow! It took a while for me to get used to the hair but I decided to go back to the hairdressers and buy something to keep my hair tame. I really wasn’t sure what I was looking for. That’s when the hairdresser recommended I use something called Shine Junkie by the company Tigi. I only ever use Nicky Clarke products when it comes to styling my hair but since my hair is a bit too short for that now I had to give my lovely Nicky Clarke products away! *Sob*. I have to admit I didn’t want to give all my products away but I knew had to become and Toni & Guy and Tigi girl. (I’m really starting to sound like a hair snob aren’t I?) The product shine junkie is basically a finishing product for your hair. The motto for this product is ‘Outshine Everyone!’ This product is apart of the bed head range by Tigi. ~~THE PACKAGING~~ I have to admit I thought the packaging was very flash, modern and looked really stylish. I love having the little metal tin in my purse. It’s in a very modern looking silver metallic tin. That’s definitely one thing I love about Tigi products, they have such cool packaging. Even the way that ‘bed head’ is written on the tin, it just gives a very posh vibe about the whole company. The tin isn’t huge but its not small either, just the right size to pop into your hand bag. On the back of the packaging it also says that it is a recyclable container, which I think
is really good. Also it says that the product itself is not tested on animals. ~~THE SMELL~~ Oh my god. This stuff smells absolutely lush. The hairdresser put it in my hair at the end and I just kept smelling my hair. It smells like orange/citrus bubblegum. It has such a lovely smell that you really can’t help but smell your hair. This is probably one of the main reasons I went back to Toni & Guy the next day. I just had to get it. Not only did it leave my hair shiny but also it left it smelling absolutely gorgeous! ~~THE PRICE~~ £7.50. Not exactly cheap but I don’t think its that expensive either. At first I was like £7.50! No way I aint paying that, but it was genuinely a good product I just had to have it. My Nicky Clarke products were of a similar price but had a much bigger container so I thought to myself this isn’t going to last very long is it? But that is were I was wrong. You only need to use a tiny bit so it really does last for ages! I think £7.50 is worth it for 50ml. ~~HOW TO APPLY~~ When the hairdresser applied this product to my hair I have to admit he was going everywhere, there is no way I could apply this stuff like he did so I asked him what was the best way to apply it. He recommended I only use the product sparingly. Then its best the rub the products between your palms and run your palms through your hair evenly, mainly concentrating from the middle of your hair to your tips as the roots are likely to already be quite shiny. He also mentioned there is no need to use loads as less is more in this case. The good thing about this product is it doesn’t really leave hair greasy but makes it much softer and shinier and getting rid of flyaway hair. Also he gave me some great advice on how to use it, he recommend I rub the palms of my hands at the back and hair so I give it texture and by the time I rub my hands at the front of my hair there will only be
a bit left meaning it would be the perfect amount to put at the front of your hair because it wont be too much. I know apply the product like this and I think it’s the best way too. ~~WHAT IT DOES TO YOUR HAIR~~ Well I have to say this really does make your hair look shiny and give it that cool, edgy look. I mean I can’t get the same effect as the hairdresser but that always happens to me. I didn’t think I would be able to work this product like he did but I was quite shocked as you only need to use a tiny bit and you can get such a shiny look without that horrible greasy look. For someone who has always had very long hair this product made my hair look lovely. What I really appreciated about this product was the fact that it really calms your hair down. After I wash and blow dry my hair it tends to look like a poodles backside but this product really calmed it down, I actually just washed my hair and it was big…very big but now it seems to have gone down after I used shine junkie. I still recommend using a serum just before blow-drying though as it will be much more effective. My hair is very ‘choppy’ as the hairdresser described and this product really brings out the spiky choppy bits, which I think is really cool. Being a glitter (and pink) freak I absolutely loved the fact that this product has a lovely shimmer to it. It is kind of glittery and oh so much fun. ~~WHERE IT’S AT~~ Tigi products are exclusively sold at Toni & Guy salons. I thought it might have been available in say boots but it is only sold in Toni & Guy so if you want to try this, you’d better get to your nearest Toni & Guy salon sharpish! If you cant really get to a salon then have a look on some hair and beauty websites. I’ve seen quite a few that sell Tigi products. ~~INGREDIENTS~~ Cyclomethicone Dimethiconol Aqua Alcohol Ceteh-20 Loureth-4 PVP/VA Copolymer Mica Titanium Dioxide Parfum ~~ADVANTAGES~~ Obviously advantages for this product is that it makes your shiny and gives it a very edgy look. ~~DISADVANTAGES~~ Even though this tin is very stylish I get quite worried as sometimes when I get it out of my hand bag its open which is quite scary as I’m afraid it’ll leak out. Also when I first bought the product it was quite hard and you just run your fingers on the top of it, but now its all squidgy and sometimes when I open it a big blob jumps onto my hands and its not very easy to handle. Also some might say the price is a disadvantage but the product does work and does last a long time if handled correctly that is! ~~OVERALL~~ I am really glad I purchased this product, not only does it make my hair shiny but it smells absolutely gorgeous. I really doubted I would use this product as I only purchased it cause hairdresser recommended it so maybe he wasn’t just trying to make money but recommending a genuinely good product. I think this product would work better for people with shorter hair but I don’t really know if it will work for people with longer hair but since it is really good on my hair I’m quite sure it will work on longer hair types. Overall a very good product for accentuating my choppy spiked layers. The main website www.tigi.com is a really cool website which shows all their products that they sell. It’s also got information on how to apply the products. If there is no way you can get to a Toni & Guy salon I recommend checking on some websites as they sell most products which are sold in their anyway. I am really happy with the way this product works and I must say I guess I didn’t really have beautiful hair! I want to thank the lovely (hehe) hairdresser for taking over and giving me a lovely cut!
