All i can say is that these are amazing, they taste amazing and are just the perfect cigarette due to the fact that they are "lighter" which makes them less harsh compared to Marlboro reds which make your thought red. Overall i would try not to buy another brand of cigarette unless i have to because many others brands don't taste anything like these.
Regarding the smoke, they burn very well and stay lit which is a plus compared to other brands of cigarette. I also find the tobacco does not burn unless you smoke it which is great as it means it is not wasted. They produce a good amount of smoke with each draw but it is not too much and is not over powering, they also produce little smoke from the lit end which is great as they don't pollute the room.
For me these cigarettes taste great, they have a good rich taste of high quality tobacco and the smoke is very smooth compared to other brands. Many other cigarettes have a chemical taste however Marlboro lights have no chemical taste which is great as it improves the level of quality of the cigarette.
The packaging and the name of Marlboro lights has changed in the UK now and they are know as Marlboro Gold Original as "lights" found safer when they are not. I find the packaging rather attractive as they design is rather retro/art deco with a sleek modern twist. The only down side to the packaging is the large warnings and pictures however this is unavoidable. And as for the new name it doesn't bother me however i know many people they switched to other brands just because of the name.
As for the price these are one of the most expensive cigarettes you can buy from a kiosk because they are one of the only high quality cigarette you can buy, you cant compromise on price unless you want to compromise of flavor & quality. On average these cost between £7.20 and £8.00 for 20 depending on location and about £4.00 for 10 pack. I feel they they are expensive but if i buy a cheaper brand they taste awful. The only brand i can compare which is similar is Blue Superkings and Amber Leaf.
Overall this is the best brand of cigarette available on the market due to the high level of quality which makes the product amazing. Of course if you are a new smoker looking to find i smoke i will say don't, but if you are looking to change smokes then change to these.
My friend just brought me back 200 Marlboro Lights from Moscow. These Lights seem tostill be available there. (May 2012) The all-white box has a red inverted 'V', on the front, and has thename 'lights'. These taste superb ! And are definately better than the UK 'Gold' which are supposed to be the old 'lights' re-named. Where can I get the 'Lights' besides Moscow ???
I've been smoking Marlboro Lights for 8 years (it's now Marlboro Gold) and I can confidently say it's the best cigarette I've smoked. I tried quite a few brands but this one is just balanced really well. Unlike other cigarettes, this one actually tastes good and I even like the smell.I'm not buying these at the store anymore tough, because it costs too much so I order it online because it's tax free. You can get them for much less of you order them through a site like www.freetaxsales.com or any other that sells them duty free.
I thought I'd write a review on my trusty Marlboro LIGHTS before quitting them for good. I have been a smoker for a long time...I started when I was 15 and I'm now 39 and despite a 3 year spell where I gave up my cigarettes to have kids I've been a 20-30 a day smoker since the early 1990s. Firstly, I wouldn't recommend smoking but I'm glad that I have smoked but I feel the time has come to quit. Being girly girl, I smoked Silk Cut Purple throughout the 1990s but when they changed their cigarette I searched for a new brand after having kids. Although I found it easy to quit when pregnant, my desire to smoke again was immense so I immediately got up to my daily ciggie intake. I was drawn to Marlboro LIGHTS cos of their image and packet of being fashionable so I bought a packet and smoked one and immediately couldn't work out why I hadn't smoked them before. The flavour is wonderful and the nicotine hit is perfect so I immediately began my love affair with them, much to my husbands disgust. The level of tar is higher than Silk Cut so my voice is husky and my throat hurts in the morning. I felt naughty again, smoking in my early thirties and Marlboro LIGHTS completed my image. They are perfect and I love them dearly but I need to quit for health and so my kids don't get influenced by me. I don't recommend smoking, but I'm glad that I've smoked from the people I've met while smoking, the image and the knowledge that my trusty Marlboro Lights are waiting for me in my bag whenever I need one. I would definitely recommend Marlboro Lights but as it says on the packet 'Smoking kills', it is time to stop in a month. I'll just enjoy my treasured ciggies for then.
I have been a smoker (and a heavy one at that!) for 14 years now, so quite a while. I do not advocate smoking but it's something I enjoy and feel sexy and confident with a cigarette. I have always smoked Marlboro LIGHTS for extended periods of time. While, I have smoked most other brands, I believe that Marlboro Lights are superior. The taste is great and they smell wonderful (even though they do make you smell but there's always Chanel for that eh?!), they are the right strength for me and my girl friends and they are fashionable and almost sexy....almost. Being a bit of a girly girl, they are fashionable enough for me. I have been a heavy smoker since leaving uni and smoke about 25 a day and more on weekends and although I have a smoker's cough and a raspy smoker's voice my love for my trusty Marlboro Lights and their nicotine is unwavering no matter how much my dear mother natters and lectures me....oh wells. Maybe at 28, I'm still immature but I am who I am. Being a premium brand, they are expensive at £6.40 a packet and especially when you're like me and always have to have at least one new packet in your bag, asking for forty Marlboro Lights at the newsagents at £12.80 a pop does seem rather extravagent. In fact, I have become so accustomed to having a my reliable Marboro lights in my bag, I don't know what I would do with out them. I definitely recommend these cigs and their popularity an is unwaning with celebrities such as Kate Moss and Sienna Miller being loyal fans leading to them actually being fashionable. Like any smoker, I love the morning cigarette with my coffee, the one after dinner and with my wine and I love the bond you share with other smokers. I'll definitely smoke Marlboro Lights til I quit and in fact I might go outside and light one up now!
Today, June 22, Food and Drug Administration take authority over tobacco Marlboro new name products, one of the most significant provisions of the law will take effect: A ban on the use of the deceptive terms "light," "mild" and "low" tar in the marketing and sale of cigarettes. These include using lighter-colored packaging for light brands, and switching to terms such as "gold" and "silver" to replace "light" and "ultra-light." This mean that Marlboro Lights will be renamed to Marlboro Gold, Marlboro Ultra Lights will to Marlboro Silver and Marlboro Menthol Mild to Marlboro Menthol Blue.
Before I start this review, I would like to say that if you do not smoke already, please do not start, it is not a habit I recommend to people!
I have been a smoker for quite a few years now, and I have tried many different brands and types of cigarettes, but my brand of choice now is Marlboro lights. They have been the only brand I buy for a couple of years now, and I find them to taste stronger, but smoother than other brands. They have the strong taste and effect of Marlboro reds, but not as harsh on the throat.
They are one of the more expensive brands though, I currently pay over £6 a packet for 20 cigarettes and it always seem to be rising! The cigarettes themselves burn at a general rate, and I find they do burn a little slower than cheaper brands, so you do get a little bit more for the extra money you spend on them.
The cigarettes come in a white box, with gold printed on it and the Marlboro logo. You can buy them in 10's, 20's and Multipacks of 200. There is also the Marlboro light 100's, which are the kingsize versions of these cigarettes.
If you do smoke, I recommend Marlboro lights. If you don't smoke, please do not start!
Somehow, I don't quite feel right about writing a review on fags since they are incredibly bad for you and I do not advocate anyone to take up smoking EVER! But for those of us weaklings who do like an occassional smoke, here is my review for you.
Well to begin, this particular version of Marlboro is the "light" version and it comes in a gold packet. You can also get full strength and menthol if I remember correctly. They contain 6mg tar, 0.5mg nicotine which is reasonably low compared to normal kinds.
I am attempting to quit smoking but sometimes I do cave, particularly if I'm stressed. When that happens, it is always these which I buy. Why? Because they are quite mild and do not feel heavy on your throat like most others I've tried. They contain a filter which helps to mildly reduce the baddies you are inhaling. I think they contain a much higher quality of tobacco than other brands such as regal and mayfair which are pretty nasty.
These are on the mid-high price range - around £6.50 for 20 of the little buggers.
As I've stated before, I will give up smoking and have set a date which I am adament I will stick to so please, no lectures on this filthy habit of mine!
Before I even start to write my review, its worth saying that smoking, however great it is, is definitely terrible for your health. Almost every smoker would say how much they'd want to give up. OK, that's off my chest now:
Marlboro lights come in packs of 10 or 20 cigarettes and can be bought from almost every tobacco selling shop in Britain. The price tend to range from £2.60-£3 for a 10 pack, and £5.70-£6 for a 20 pack. They are an extremely well known brand in this country, and are certainly one of the most popular.
Personally, I smoke hand rolled cigarettes for the majority of the time. However, every so often I tend to buy a packed of Marlboro when I'm either going on a night out, about to go on a long car journey, or can't be bothered to roll. These lights are not as strong as Marlboro reds (which contain little shards of graphite to cut your throat and give the kick), but stronger that the Marlboro silks. These mean is perfect for me, and when smoking 10-15 a day, you don't want to be plaguing your health with the strongest cigarette you can find on the market.
My advise for you is this then:
If you don't smoke, then don't start; easy as that.
If you do smoke and are looking for a change, go abroad and buy tons of these in duty free.
I am writing this review whilst using the product in question. As i inhale long slow drag i am confronted with a comforting burning sensation in the back of my throat and sense that my stresses are disappering much the same as the cloud of smoke emanating from my cigarette. As I extinguish my 9th cig of the day i am filled with a slight sense of disappointment, why i am ignoring all health risks to continue what essentially is still perceived as a disgusting habit. I justify this with the fact that apart from this undesirable vice i am healthy individual who eats well and exercises regularly. So much so that i came 439th in the Manchester 10k out of 33k entrants whilst still maintaining 10 a day smoking habit.
I have been a a light smoker for about 4 years, having managed to miss the social peer pressures applied as a teen. I picked up the habit in my twenties during a office Christmas party. The cigarette i was handed that day was a Marlboro light and i have been quite literally addicted ever since.
As for the more objective part of the review, Marlboro lights are sold in packs of 10's or 20's costing approx £3.10 and £5.80 as of the date of this review. They are presented in a white box with a gold top. With all cigarette packaging these days they carry a largely ignored warning message that smoking kills in a large nondescript font.
For those fellow smokers I would categorically go on record that Marlboro lights are in the premier league of the cigarette world. They are not as harsh as their regular strength brothers and cheaper alternatives but pack more of a punch then any other "light" variety of cigarette. Also within in the smoking community they are the embodiment of style and portray the individual who smokes them as a person who has a choice to feed their addiction.
A note for any no smoker who reads this article, i agree as whole it is a vulgar habit and yes we should be sent outside to indulge in our shame. I would never offer a cig to someone who is smoking curios and take great care when smoking in public around no smokers.
Marlboro Lights belong to a family of cigarettes and are a sort middle ground between Marlboro Red and Marlboro Silk Cut. They come in attractive white and gold box with the name Marlboro on the front in a tall thin serif font.
Having smoked for a number of years, I started my days as a smoker on the darker side, smoking brands such as Lambert and Butler, and Richmond (Blergh!) It was my sister who always smoked Marlboro Lights and after borrowing one from her one day, I have smoked pretty much nothing else since. The taste is is smooth, and one that I just can't seem to find in any other cigarettes, Benson and Hedges silver is a close contender. I really enjoy the lightness of these cigarettes, they're not heavy on the throat, don't leave such a horrible aftertaste and I'm convinced they don't smell as much as regular cigarettes.
I know smoking is bad, but I would consider myself a light smoker, smoking 1 - 5 of these cigarettes everyday. Now that I've got used to these cigarettes, I wouldn't smoke anything else. If you already smoke regular cigarettes, it's likely you will think these are too light but if you persevere you will get used to them, and since they contain less tar and less nicotine, they could be a good cigarette to use for weening yourself of. If you don't already smoke, I certainly wouldn't advise you start.
They are sometimes a little pricier than some of the other brands, but usually fall in line with around the £6 mark for a 20 pack, but you do get what you pay for.
Now I'm not a regular smoker, but on occasion I enjoy a tab, and it's the Marlboro Lights that I go for.
What is it that makes people choose a certain brand of cigarette? Well I think it is the taste that appeals to me, this cigarette has a nice smooth flavour. However, I also think the image is important. Everyone knows that smoking makes you look cool, but when I puff on a Marlboro light It's easy to imagine myself as a cowboy or a Russian spy, pretty flashy.
The packs are typically sold from all tobacco outlets in boxes of 10 or 20. It seems inappropriate to list the price of these tabs as they seem to go up so often when the government imposes it's regular increase in duty.
Lets face it, smoking is a bad habit and is becoming socially unacceptable. You have to be a current smoker to try these.
I would recommend this tab to any smokers out there who puff on other brands. I would not advise any non-smokers to buy them though, as they are a little unhealthy.
Hello People !
Normally I smoke Red Royal Superkings , but today the shop was out . I asked for a packet of Marlboro Lights (They had "100's" but I think King Size is better quality) . So I walk out of the shop , take a drag and WOW ! . These are great , They burn good , they are not too harsh , Infact they are my new smoke ! . For some reason as I mention earlier the King Size are better , and I stand by this . I think the 100s or "Superkings" are made with scraps of other cigarettes , but that is just me ! . Ok so on a scale of 1 - 10 , Ten being the highest , I give these a 10 ! A little pricey but worth every penny , Marlboro Lights for Ever !
Thanks For Reading!
If your low on cash and these cigarettes are in your price range, then these are the cigarettes for you. Not harsh when you take the first drag, like the brother Red marlboro. Cost effective as people are normally disheartened and put off by having them as they have a some what bad repretation, so it saves you giving out cigarettes, hence saving you money in the long run. The taste is like a dilute marlboro red and leaves your mouth feel tinny.
Just had my first one of these after smoking Richmond king size and i can honestly say i found them strong and my throat is v sore.
Although a mate brough them back from Europe and it says exp 08/06 which was 2 month ago...She got me 200 of them so beggars cant be choosers.
Think if after this 200 throat is still sore will go back to richmond or silk cut.
Love the lovley white tip though! How can fags go out of date!?
